Kurz is\u00a0one of the most commonly planted ground covers in\u00a0oil palm plantations. However, under uncontrolled\u00a0conditions, the covers can smother and entangle\u00a0the palms, especially in young immature plantings.\u00a0Efficacy of five major types of herbicides &#8211; paraquat\u00a0dichloride (PD), glyphosate isopropylamine (GI),\u00a0metsulfuron methyl (MM), glufosinate ammonium\u00a0(GA), and disodium methyl arsenate (DSMA),\u00a0as well as ammonium chloride with two separate\u00a0spraying volumes and two different spraying\u00a0frequencies, in controlling M. bracteata were\u00a0studied. Variable spraying volume or spray-towet\u00a0method caused higher M. bracteata mortality\u00a0compared to fixed volume spraying. The PD,\u00a0GI+MM mixture and GA were observed to give\u00a0better control of M. bracteata compared to other\u00a0treatments. Multifactorial ANOVA illustrated that\u00a0herbicide, volume and frequency were showing\u00a0significant post-spraying influence on both percent\u00a0of casualty and alive M. bracteata after most of the\u00a0spraying rounds. Interactions between herbicide\u00a0x volume, herbicide x frequency, and herbicide\u00a0x volume x frequency were spotted in a few postspraying\u00a0census. However, there was no interaction\u00a0found in volume x frequency. Results showed that\u00a0spraying with GI+MM mixture could be one of the\u00a0promising herbicide combinations with spray-till-wet\u00a0technique and variable spraying rounds (reapplication\u00a0as M. bracteata covered &#038;gt, 70%) was\u00a0the most efficient treatment and with reduced effect\u00a0on M. bracteata regeneration.<\/p>\n<p>Pokok kekacang, Mucuna bracteata DC. ex. Kurz\u00a0merupakan tanaman penutup bumi yang biasa\u00a0ditanam di ladang sawit.
