Results are reported on FFA detn. in 4 samples of refined palm oils by 27 laboratories. Tabulated results show a coeff. of variation of 3% for FFA values approx. 0.09, 4.5% for FFA values approx. 0.05. Details of statistical analysis (analysis of variance), factors affecting end point colour persistence of isopropanol with NaOH, and of normal FFA analysis are shown in tables. Recommendations are made to ensure accurate and reliable results.
